BARGAIN SHOPPING ONLINE
I remember when I first discovered the internet, way back in the ancient days. Someone sent me a virtual postcard that was a picture of a vase of flowers. The technology absolutely amazed me... and it still does. Singing, dancing, laughing cards are chosen (and in some instances, created) for individuals, then the links delivered in their email box automatically - all without a glitch. It's pretty amazing when you think of it.
Back then, of course, and up to very recently, all virtual greeting cards were free. Not so any more.
Blue Mountain is probably the top email greeting card site on the internet, or at least it was. If you haven't been there lately, you'll be surprised to find out that many of its cards are no longer free.
Greetings at Yahoo has thousands of cards available. This is probably the biggest collection of free cards online. Some cards are musical; some animated (but not well), some are both.
- Hallmark E-Cards page definitely has the Hallmark feel. You'll find excellent quality for a variety of ecards. Flash required.
- 123 Greetings is still free, but beware the popups! (I'm just warning you in advance to exercise patience here.)
- Pacific Products presents a nice selection of free greeting cards. Some are animated as well as musical.
- A nice, selection of cards is at E-cards. Advertising supports them here, so they're free to the user.
-
- Crosswalk Cards comes from a Christian site with a variety of cards.
It's still the most frugal to send free greeting cards online whenever you can. There is one thing to think about though. Somebody has to pay the bills sooner or later. By this time next year they could all be gone.
Places like Blue Mountain charge very small fees for their very good products, and while some of the free sites have some great cards... well, frugal or not, you get what you pay for in the long run.
